Dear Prospective Missionary Builder,

We are sincerely excited that you have expressed interest in our wonderful ministry.  Without a doubt, this is the most rewarding thing my family and I have ever done.  Understand however, there are difficulties living in the confined quarters of an RV and being out on the road full-time, but there are blessings as well.  God’s divine call yields His divine grace to do what we do.

Before we consider you a part of our team there are a few things we need:

  1. A minimum of two weeks working on job sites with our team.
  2. A completed information questionnaire (enclosed).
  3. A letter of recommendation on from your pastor.
  4. A completed questionnaire, confirming your Christian character, from your pastor.
  5. You must be commissioned and officially sent out by your church. As the application process continues, your pastor must provide us with a copy of the minutes of a service where your church commissions and sends you out as official construction missionaries of the church.

NOTE:  This is not an ordination service.  Church construction missionaries do not necessarily need to be held to the same biblical qualifications as those individuals who are ordained into traditional ministries.   Swinging a hammer is much different than being a pastor/teacher, or even a deacon.  Christian character is a minimal requirement, however.

If your church and/or pastor cannot recommend you to this ministry we don’t really need your help. You know what I mean.  After all, our livelihoods are dependent upon our reputations.  We cannot afford to allow an individual or family to destroy what we have worked hard to preserve.  We don’t require “sinless perfection” from anyone.  We do believe, however, that it is not asking too much to maintain a level of Christian integrity and character within our team of builders.

As a missionary builder you will have opportunities to speak in churches.  There will be times you will be giving a brief testimony, telling about your ministry, or perhaps even being the featured speaker in a church service.  When you do so, please use only the authorized King James Version of the Bible.  It doesn’t concern us which Bible version your sending church uses, or what you use in the privacy of your own home.  What your sending church uses is their business.  It is a local church issue.  We will not presume upon the local church.  What you do in the privacy of your own home is your business.  We will not micro-manage your life.   However, what you do in public affects all of us as BBF Builders.  Many churches are highly offended at the use of any Bible version other than the authorized KJV.  As a member of BBF Builders you represent a team and their families whose livelihoods are at stake.  Therefore, please don’t betray the trust of your team by using a Bible version other than the authorized King James Version, not even the New King James Version.  It is just not worth the consequences.

If you have any questions, or need clarification about anything mentioned or not mentioned in the paperwork enclosed, please don’t hesitate to call.  We will be glad to assist you any way we can.

In Service of The King,

Rev. Brent L. Anderson
Co-founder and Chairman

BBF Builders is a ministry.  We volunteer our time and experience to churches.  Therefore, we do not receive a salary for what we do.  We request that the project church provide one meal a day to the workers and their families, as well as a place to park our RVs.  For full-time construction missionaries, we ask the church to take them on for monthly support.  Each individual is responsible for his own means of income, which may include Social Security, retirement plans, raising monthly support if you are approved as a construction missionary, or you can be independently wealthy if you prefer.

Each of the builders provides their own means of transportation and living quarters.  Most have a 5th wheel trailer, pull-trailer, or motor home.  Some of the builders live in their RVs full-time, but that is not a requirement.  You do not have to sell your home to become a BBF Builder.  Each builder furnishes his own tools as well.  Volunteers can work as much or as little as they desire.  Being a missionary builder requires a full-time commitment.
