From the time Lesley and I were married, we have tried to serve our Lord faithfully through our home church – Bible Baptist Church in Knox, IN. We both served as Sunday school teachers. I served as a Trustee for several years. Lesley helped coordinate the kitchen and nursery. We tried to let the Lord use us in any way we could.
Although we were very busy at our home church, the Lord was burdening me to serve Him in a full-time capacity. Until I surrendered in July of 2007, I was blessed to be a General Supervisor on heavy commercial jobsites. The Lord had blessed me with a good paying job that met all our family needs. From the days as a housing carpenter (right out of high school) to the last several years as a commercial carpenter, building hospitals and schools – I always loved being a carpenter!
Even though we were serving our Lord faithfully in our home church, I knew that the Lord wanted me to serve Him in a full-time capacity; but I was afraid to quit a good-paying job and take my family out of their comfort-zone. After a two year struggle, I surrendered to let the Lord use me in any way that He desired. The Lord burdened my heart to use my construction knowledge to help build churches throughout the US. Although I knew what He wanted me to do, I didn’t know how to go about it – until the Lord put me in touch with Bro. Brent Anderson and the BBF Builders! When we worked with them on our 1st mission project, we knew that this was where the Lord wanted us to serve Him!
We are so pleased to be used in this unique ministry! It is our prayer that many souls will be reached for Christ, through our faithfulness to build churches that will turn their communities upside down for the Lord! Please pray that we will accomplish the Lord’s will for our lives – to serve Him with our whole heart!
